Wrath Dynasty Survival Guide
Guild Information
Description
Wrath Dynasty is a progressive raiding guild with a family atmosphere of friendship and teamwork. We take raiding seriously but still like to have fun while progressing. Our guild has an established raiding team that is currently conquering Icecrown Citadel. We have a base of dedicated and disciplined Core Raiders that respect and support each other, and work in unity as a team.
Membership
Membership into Wrath Dynasty is a privilege. If you have been invited to join our ranks, rest assured that we have seen a quality in you that is above that of the average player. You were selected not only for your skill or aptitude, but in the honorable way in which you have conducted yourself. Wrath Dynasty membership is very selective to assure that we remain a guild of honor, and maintain our friendly family atmosphere. Our guild strives to achieve a high standard of conduct in addition to skill at the elements of the game. Wrath Dynasty looks for individuals that possess an overall character that will help to maintain a reputation worthy of honor and respect.
Code of Honor
As a member of Wrath Dynasty, I will:
  • Conduct myself in a relatively mature manner both in game play and in my interactions with other individuals.
  • Be respectful of others regardless of differences.
  • Display a quality of character that is worthy of respect, as I am also representing Wrath Dynasty and its reputation.
  • Understand that my initial entry into Wrath Dynasty is a period of induction, to allow both myself and the guild to determine if we are a good fit for each other. At the end of the two week initial buffer period I will be promoted to member. Promotions, after rank of member, are earned by guild interaction, activity, game progression and for raiders points earned from raid participation.
  • Understand that certain types of behavior will not be tolerated as outlined in the guild Code of Conduct and Rewards.
  • Be polite and patient in asking for and receiving help.
  • Be prepared to render help to others in turn.
Raid Routines and Guidelines
Consumables (Food/Flask)
Each raid member is required to have food and flask or battle and guaridan Elixir on for each boss encounter. Just before a Ready Check, it will be posted in Raid who is missing these buffs. Prior to the boss encounter a "Ready Check" will be initiated. It is your responsibility to have your required consumables on when you click "Yes" denoting that you are ready for the encounter. Once the "Ready Check" has completed everyone who has their required consumables will be eligible for the boss attempt EP reward.
Gear/Enchants/Gems
Raider's gear must be approved for the raid level they are attending, fully gemmed with a minimum of epic quality gems, and fully enchanted. All gear, gems, and enchants must be appropriate for your class and talent selection. The approval process is as simple as asking the raid leader or an officer attending the raid to inspect your gear. As a raider, one should know if their gear is acceptable for specific levels of raiding.
AFK
There are times during the raid when it is possible to go AFK to take care of unexpected issues, get snacks, or take a "Drenthe" break. AFKs are fine provided you notify the raid leader and get approval, put your AFK flag on, put follow on another raid member whom you have received approval to do so, and do not exceed 2 minutes. Stating "I'm going AFK" is not an approval. You whisper any of the Raid Team and ASK. "I need to do something. It will take me 3 min. Can I do it now?" If they respond that it's ok at this point to AFK, then it's approved. If for any reason you need an extended AFK, please notify the raid leader. Please make every effort not to AFK when we are approaching bosses in raid zones.

If you are AFK, even an excused AFK, be prepared to be replaced. We will not hold up the raid by one person especially when there are others waiting to fill the spot. We understand that people have things come up, but we ask that everyone also understand that we don't want to waste the time we do have to raid. If you are kicked from the group, you are welcome to join those waiting for another spot to open.

If you cannot focus your attention on the raid, leave the raid, take care of your distraction(s), and then rejoin the raid. On particular raids, we will require you to not be AFK at all for the duration of the raid. Be forewarned however that when we engage certain mobs, you may not be able to take an AFK for up to 30 minutes (yes they are that nonstop). So, be ready beforehand.

Real life happens, we understand that, but you need to understand that there are 24 other people who are trying to accomplish something. We may sympathize with your situation, and you may have the best reason in the world, but AFK is still AFK.
Full Attendance
Raid duration consists of the posted start time (typically 4:30pm server time) until the Raid Leader calls the raid, typically at 8:00 pm server. Attendance includes being available during this time and, at the start of the raid, being zoned in and prepared for the first pull. There will be a 5 minute break some time around ½ way into the raid night. This also includes strict adherence to the AFK rules posted.
Addons
Raid members are required to have the following addons installed, with some exceptions:
  • DBM - Deadly boss mods - Gives Raid and Personal information during boss encounters.
  • oRA2 - Provides Easy Assistance to the Tanks, and a host of information to the Raid Leadership.
  • Omen Threat Meter - can use other similar products that show personal threat on the current boss encounter. (Healer's excepted)
  • Pally Power (Paladins only) - Sets up raid buffs and lets the paladins know when buffs are expiring.
Boss Strategies
It is a raid member's responsibility to know and understand Boss fights including Boss Abilities, Phases and basic strategy. Every member should review the Boss Strategy Forums for each boss.

If the attending council feels that a member is not performing at a level achievable from thorough understanding and studying of the boss mechanics, they may relieve the member of their position for the night. It is then the member's priority to review and study the boss fights the council suggests are their weakness.
Invites
In order to receive an invite, one must sign up for the raid on the in-game Calendar. If you sign up and are not able make it, remove your sign up from the Calendar.

Member roles for the raid are: Tank, Healer, Melee or Ranged DPS. We may invite one role over another depending on the demand. For example: it may be necessary to invite someone to the raid who hasn't signed up, but fills a specific role that is needed to make the raid successful. This could be a type of tank, AOE, single target, type of healer (HOTS, Group heals, Single target heals) or even a specific class that adds a Buff to the raid or a Debuff to the boss.

The raid invite time is posted on the Calendar and typically start at 4:30pm server time. Please make yourself available at that time to accept your invite. During the time all invites are going out, make your way to the announced raid destination; don't wait for a summon to the zone.

Everyone who signs up and shows up on time will be eligible for Waitlist EP. You will be awarded the same EP that is awarded during the raid night provided that you are available to join the raid if a position becomes available. See the Waitlist section.

Getting cut from the raid: If you are not enchanted / gemmed or there are extra people for your Role, then you will likely be cut first. If someone is missing 2 enchants, while someone else is missing 1, the person missing 2 enchants will be cut first. As per the EPGP rules, because you are not enchanted/gemmed, you also will not be eligible for EP.

Stepping Out: After this cut, we would ask if anyone would like to step out, or only need a specific boss. We will do our best to accommodate as many people as we can for specific boss fights. Please note that if you do step out, you will be missing out on emblems and possible off spec items.

If we still have too many for a specific Role, then lowest EP or lowest performer will be cut depending on the situation.

NOTE: In some cases it will be necessary to invite a trial member to raid over a existing Wrath Dynasty Member in order to evaluate their raiding and social abilities.

Trial Members: We do our best to include you in our Raiding opportunities. Please don't feel like you will never get to raid. After a few weeks of "paying your dues" you should have the EP built up (if you come to all the raids) to get above the cut off EP.
Wait-list EPGP
Members not participating in the actual raid, but wish to, are placed into a wait-list. This allows the members to collect all the EP handed out - this is only fair for their ambition, yet missing out on all the benefits of raiding.

To qualify for the wait-list EP, members must sign-up for the raid, be on-time, online and available to join the actual raid. Members may log onto an alternative character, but must notify the raid leader first. Wait-list members will be requested to join the raid when and if a position becomes available.

Joining wait-list late: Many times members will be late and miss out on a position in the raid. These members may join the wait-list, but may only earn 1 EP every 20 minutes and may not exceed the EP awarded during their attendance. This EP will be awarded at the end of the raid and the members must be available and online the entire raid, from the time they joined the wait-list, to receive it.

Joining wait-list: We use an addon named Queeg to keep track of wait-list members. The raid member must add him or herself to the list by whispering the raid leader with the command "QUEUE ADD". If a user wishes to log onto an alt, they must first register their alts name with the addon by whispering the raid leader with the command "QUEUE ALT " and fill in the alts name. This command must be whispered by your main character.
The following is a list of commands available when whispering the raid leader.
  • ADD - Join the queue
  • REMOVE - Leave the queue
  • LIST - Request a whisper of the current queue
  • ALT - Add an alt to their player profile
  • ALTS - List any currently registered alts
  • HELP - Further help on any command
BoE Items
Bind on Equip items will be allowed to roll only main-spec during the raid. Items will then be deposited into the guild bank and follow traditional guild-bank loot distribution criteria.
Plans/Recipes
Plans will be distributed only to members with the required profession level and are above the EP minimum. As a means for more even distribution, after receiving a plan, that member goes to the "bottom of the list" for plan distribution - all other candidates will be considered before them.
Loot Distribution
Main Spec: The member with the highest Priority Rating receives the item. See EPGP.

Main Spec (Non-Proficiency): Members may wish to receive an item outside of their default proficiency as main spec. These members will roll as main spec, but members with the default proficiency of the item will be prioritized. For example: If a Warrior with high EP wants a leather item versus a Rogue with low EP, the Rogue will receive the item because leather is his default proficiency and it is not for the Warrior.

Off/Secondary Spec: The member with the highest roll receives the item, though it is preferred that Secondary-specs receive it over Off-specs. Council may veto rolls or refuse rolling on an item if it will be an upgrade for a raid member who's secondary spec is considered critical to the raid.

Pugs: Pugs will be able to roll on items, including main-spec items that are distributed by PR. Pugs only win main-spec items if they are the highest roller and they may only win 1 main-spec item per raid.
Raid Chat
During Boss Fights: Do not speak during boss fights unless you are given permission. Specific members will be assigned responsibilities to instruct over Ventrilo in most cases.

During Loot: Do not speak during loot unless it is regarding loot. Handing out loot may get complicated, so keeping a clear channel for all members is required.
Switching Main Character/Spec
If a raid-member wishes to switch their main character or spec, the following scenarios are required:
  • The raid must have the need for the spec/class being switched to.
  • The raid must be able to compensate the loss of the current spec/class being switched from.
  • The gear, spec, gems, enchants and talent of the class must be critiqued by the council to be acceptable for current raiding content.
  • The raid member must have taken a main spec/class seriously and understand that the raid will need to adapt. In other words, members seemingly unstable in their class/spec decision may be refused from switching specs in order to avoid wasted gear distribution.

Once the council approves the decision to allow a raid-member to switch their main character, their EPGP will be transferred to their new main - no wiping of EPGP occurs and past gear charges will be applied.
Ventrilo
Speaking in Vent
Ventrilo is a priviledge and we wish the behaviour to conform with wishes of those listening. For this reason, cursing, yelling, spam and any other form of discouraged behaviour (whether it is abusive or just abnoxious) is denied.
EPGP
Description
EPGP is an intelligent point system for loot distribution. Offical documentation can be found here: http://www.epgpweb.com/help/system

EP - Stands for "Effort Points" and is awarded during regular scheduled raids for boss kills, progression attempts and end-night award. EP will not be awarded outside of regular 25-man guild raids or for any other reason than the scenarios listed.
GP - Stands for "Gear Points" and is awarded for gear received as main spec and main spec only. The stipulation of being charged GP is only applied to main spec items received during a regular 25-man guild raid or a BoE item received from the guild bank. Resistance gear is not considered main spec.
PR - Stands for "Priority Rating" and is the ratio of a raiders EP to GP. PR is used as the basis of distribution gear and dictates which members of priority over others - the higher the PR, the higher the priority. Receiving EP (effort) will increase PR and receiving GP (gear) decreases PR.
Minimum EP
Minimum EP is a value which will split raid members into two groups - those under and those above Minimum EP. During loot distribution, those above or equal to Minimum EP will receive items before those below Minimum EP. The reasoning for Minimum EP is to create a platform for proven dedicated raiders and prevents large PR new members will achieve. Minimum EP is a hurdle for raid members to overcome. Minimum EP is set on Tuesdays to 45% of the barer of the highest EP in the guild.

Overcoming Minimum EP is simply time and attendance. An example: Some members have went from brand-new raiders, to above minimum EP in 5 weeks with low progression attempts.
Base GP
Base GP will sound like Minimum EP. Base GP will start everyone off at the specified value for GP. If GP were to drop really low or to zero, the PR would reach outstanding amounts. Base GP creates a maximum of what PR can hit and prevents new members from having wild PR.
EPGP Addon
The addon is not required, but highly suggested to view raid members' EP, GP and PR. http://code.google.com/p/epgp/
Gear Prices
Gear prices are based on the usage, slot and iLevel of an item. The algorithm for prices can be found here: http://www.epgpweb.com/help/gearpoints
Leaving WD and Returning
If a member leaves the guild but then decides to come back, their EPGP will be instantiated to the last backup at a decay of 10% for each day out of the guild. Example: If a member leaves and comes back 5 days later, they get 50% of their original EPGP.
Adjustments/Resetting EPGP
Resetting EPGP usually occurs at monumental points in the game - usually expansions.

EPGP also needs to be maintained - Minimum EP will be udpated on a weekly basis and Base GP may be increased when a new raid instance is released and should be scaled with the value of our gears costs.

Guild Bank
Enchanting Mats
Cost is 50% of current AH price.
Gear
Cost is 70% of current AH price.
Plans/Recipes
Cost is 70% of current AH price.
Guild Chat and Members
Behaviour
Behaviour must reflect the Code of Honor.
Spam
Meters (DPS, healing, etc), repitition of any message or any excessive messaging in guild chat is discouraged.

One on One conversations should be taken out of guild chat - there are over 100 accounts in Wrath Dynasty, so if possibly, leave personal conversations private to prevent excessive chat.
Conflicts
Conflicts should be taken to personal channels or whispering. Mature arguments are welcomed, but must be kept to private chat to prevent stirring of emotions and tempers. There is a fine line between discussion and arguments; arguments will not be tolerated.
Guild Invites
Wrath Dynasty welcomes the friends of raiders
Alts - Alts are allowed, but no bank alts.
Members - Need to apply first and will be critiqued for raid preparedness.
